  • Explore effective mini lessons to teach high impact skills for writing
  • Review the writing lesson to ensure it meets the learning needs of ‘at risk’ writers

  • Review the progression of writing levels and skills
  • Identify the common sticking points for ‘at risk’ writers
  • Reading/ writing connections

 

Session 2: Mini-lesson ideas to support ‘at risk’ writers to develop their writing skills

  • Phonics and spelling
  • Sentences
  • Vocabulary
  • Handwriting

 

Session 3: Reviewing the writing lesson

  • Lesson introduction
  • Independent writing
  • Reviewing writing
