Includes: a writing lesson plan, YouTube video link and two video talk strips (for juniors and seniors)
Focus: describing an event from the perspective of a character
Talking strips can be used for oral language activities and as a writing frame.
Once the students know each box on the talking strip, they can begin to compose simple arguments. Display a topic and generate a list of possible arguments then model composing sentences as needed.
Students can then work in pairs and compose arguments using the prompts.
The sentence starters can be used as a scaffold for writing.
