How do we ensure our students are speaking and actively listening during whole-class teaching? Students who are talking and thinking are learning.

In this workshop, Louise will:

  • review the key features of effective whole-class explicit teaching, including formative assessment strategies to monitor student learning during lessons.
  • unpack recommended speaking and listening protocols that ensure all students are actively engaged—both listening and speaking—during whole-class instruction
  • share high-impact oral language routines and activities that can be embedded in the ‘we do’ phase of the lesson to support guided practice and scaffold student success during the independent ‘you do’ phase.

This workshop is grounded in the core principles of the Science of Learning, ensuring research-informed practice.

More information and a code to join this workshop will be emailed to attendees closer to the time.
