Join Louise as she unpacks the key features of explicit writing instruction,
drawing on the research and principles of the New Zealand and Australian
curricula. The workshop will review how to use the 'I do' and 'we do'
strategies to scaffold success in writing for all students. Louise will
explore the role of guided practice within whole-class instruction to
support students to practise new skills, with immediate teacher feedback.

A range of writing lessons and ideas will be shared that cover the three
main writing purposes.

Louise will share a clear, manageable lesson structure that includes
routines for revising and editing writing.

Participants will receive:

  • sample weekly plans
  • writing posters and templates
