Monday 25 January
1.30pm - 3.30pm NZT

Early bird available until 20 December

Establishing routines and protocols for classroom talk at the beginning of the year, gives students regular opportunities to process and practise new learning. These routines also help teachers check for understanding and make in-the-moment decisions about the next teaching steps.

This workshop will focus on using talk routines during reading, but they can be easily transferred to any lesson.

The workshop will cover:

  • A bank of tried-and-tested oral language protocols to ensure all students have opportunities to speak, listen to others and develop ideas during whole-class teaching.
  • High-quality oral language activities that can be used across the curriculum.

Teachers will receive a range of oral language resources and lesson ideas.

Teachers can watch this workshop live or on demand at a later date.

More information and a code to join this workshop will be emailed to attendees approximately three days prior to the workshop.
