Writing effective paragraphs is an essential skill for text creation. To do this well, students need to generate ideas, take notes, and organise those notes into a logical sequence. They also need to craft clear sentences and use linking words and phrases to connect their ideas.

Join Louise for a practical, classroom-focused workshop. She will talk through the progression of skills needed for paragraph writing and share lesson ideas and resources you can use straight away.

This workshop will cover:

  • The generic structure of a paragraph and how this sits within a text (non-fiction and fiction)
  • A sequence of steps to support students to understand and write paragraphs
  • Strategies to scaffold success for students who are at risk as writers
