Focus: using similes and metaphors to create a poem about the moon
Ocean pollution comes in many forms, but the largest factor affecting the oceans is plastic (Marine Safe).
New Zealand-based inventor and engineer Peter Lewis has come up with a way to help by giving old, used plastic a permanent purpose. Students could watch the video and discuss his response to the problem, then write a report about his device, or work in groups to write a newspaper article about his eco-friendly company. Alternatively, students could design and write about what they would invent to reuse plastic.
