SCUMPS is an oral language framework that supports students to describe an object.
The acronym is used to prompt the students to talk about different aspects of the object, which they can then describe to a partner, small group or the whole class. The SCUMPS strip supports students to translate their oral descriptions into note form which can be then used to write about their object.
